New Telestax CEO Loves CPaaS Enablement

Earlier this week Telestax made the exciting announcement that our board of directors unanimously elected Paul Doscher to be our new CEO. The entire company is buzzing with excitement about the future of Telestax under Paul’s guidance. Paul’s background is rich in open source. He was previously selected to lead three open source companies as their CEO – Telestax makes it number four. Before joining Telestax, Paul spent over 25 years in executive roles for noteworthy software companies including Oracle as VP Americas Alliances, Business Objects as General Manager Americas Subsidiary, JasperSoft as President and CEO and Lucidworks as President and CEO.  He brings strategy, operations, sales and channels experience to complement Telestax and RestcommONE, a well-engineered and award winning CPaaS Enablement platform.

As an example of his leadership style, Paul crafted the message below and distributed it company-wide just before the press release announcing his appointment went over the wire. I thought the message would be interesting to our customers and partners who have been working with us over the years. You can see that he places our focus on you first – just as it should be.

Paul’s Message To The Company

I am sending this quick note to introduce myself and to lay out some of the reasons I made the decision to join this exciting Company at such a critical time in its evolution. I know that you all greatly appreciate and respect Ivelin Ivanov – as do I.  I would like to begin by taking this time to personally thank Ivelin, as well as Jean and Amit, for the many years of dedication and leadership they have given – and will continue to give to Telestax moving forward.

As some of you may know, I began my relationship with Telestax as a CEO Advisor to the company well over a year ago. During this time, I had the opportunity to get to know the product and to understand a little bit the CPaaS and CPaaS Enablement markets. The CPaaS enablement market, where Telestax plays, presents a huge opportunity for building a successful and sustainable company.  This market, which is at its infancy today, promises to become multi-billion dollar in size within the next few years. And we are on the ground floor with the right product. Think about how rare it is to be in a company with the right product at the right time in the right market. I believe this is the case with Telestax.

We definitely have an opportunity ahead of us but it is not without challenges. The industry is changing and growing at hyper-speed, and expectations will come from more than one group – our customers, investors and the media.  To succeed we will need to be laser focused on our customer’s successes. This means building cloud based solutions that meet their exact needs, providing service and support that is second to none and enlisting partners who add notable value to our solution.

To accomplish this, we will have to continue to evolve into an efficient company that produces at all levels. We have to make decisions faster and with more clarity. We have to collaborate better, and we have to put team spirit at the heart of what we do. Only when we demonstrate teamwork as well as a fighting spirit will we be able to achieve our most important goals. What are those? For 2019, these goals are easy to identify and each of us must contribute to achieving them.

First and foremost, it is crucial that we reach our revenue and cost targets in all areas.  We must create a sense of urgency in everything we do. To this end we will revise our internal processes and procedures to maximize our investment across the Company.

Second, we will focus on putting customers first and working hard to earn their trust, every day. They are the reason Telestax exists. We will offer them compelling cloud based solutions and not just products. Only when we add value to our customers, will we reach to highest goals for our future.

It is clear that there is no such thing as a free lunch. We will have to fight to succeed and my team and I are ready to do so. Because it’s worth it! It’s time to take Telestax to the next level.

On that note, I’d like to ask for your full support for me and the leadership team. I’m looking forward to working with all of you. I will start by hosting a town hall meeting in December, after the executive planning meeting, that will be dedicated to outlining our plans for 2019 and answering any questions and/or concerns you may have.
